How to solve a nonogram

Each number is a run of filled cells. That's all you need to start. The trick is finding cells that must be filled wherever the run goes.

Nonogram rules

  1. 1

Each row has numbers on the left and each column has numbers on top.

  2. 2

The numbers are runs of filled cells in that row or column. "3 1" means three filled cells in a row, at least one gap, then one filled cell, in that order.

  3. 3

A row or column marked "0" has no filled cells.

  4. 4

Fill the cells so every row and column matches its numbers to solve the puzzle.

  5. 5

Every puzuru puzzle can be solved from the row and column numbers by logic alone, and has exactly one answer.
