Matching Game rules

  • All the picture cards are laid face down. There are two cards of each picture.
  • Turn over any two cards. If the pictures match, you keep both cards.
  • If they don't match, both turn back over. Try to remember where each picture was.
  • Match every pair to win. Your time and turns (each time you turn over two cards) are recorded.

Tips to clear faster

At the start, turn cards over in order from one corner. It makes positions easier to remember.

If your first card is a picture you've seen before, turn over its partner where you remember it.

Give pictures a name and a place ("cat, top left"). It helps you remember.

Start with Easy (8 pairs), then add more pairs as you get better.

FAQ

Is it free? Do I need to sign up?

It's free and there's no sign-up. It runs right in your browser.

How is this different from the card game Concentration?

You play it the same way, but with picture cards of animals, food and vehicles instead of playing cards. We also have Concentration with playing cards.

Why do the pictures look different on my device?

The pictures are emoji, so each phone or computer draws them in its own style. Matching pictures always look the same on the same device.

How are the levels different?

Easy has 8 pairs (16 cards), Normal 12 pairs (24), Hard 18 pairs (36) and Expert 24 pairs (48).

What if I close the page?

On the same device and browser, each theme and level continues where you left off.
